COLEGIO ALKOR'S FIRST ANNUAL SPELLING BEE
This year Colegio Alkor organized its first schoolwide spelling bee. Students from third, fouth, fifth and sixth grade were able to participate. First representatives were chosen from each class and those representatives competed against each other within their grade. The students from each grade level were quizzed on a variety of words in English by Alkor's Spellmaster and current auxiliar de conversación, Melinda Merola. The students in the audience were very supportive of their classmates and showed their enthusiasm continuously throughout the event. The winners from each grade went on to compete in Madrid at the second annual FACEPM Spelling Bee. One of our students was the city wide winner, Claudia Mateos. See her story here.
