LEARNING ABOUT FOOD IN FIRST GRADE
This week we are learning about food in first grade. Julie taught us how to describe food that we find in our fridge using "there is" and "there are".We learned that we use "there is" to talk about just one thing and "there are" for two or more things. For example: There is a banana. or There are three bananas. The first graders have done exceptionally well acquiring this bit of English grammar considering that in in Spanish we only use one word, "hay", to indicate both singular and plural.
Finally, we talked about typical American food and created our own fridge. Then we described what was inside using "there is" and "there are". Click below to see more pictures from the lesson!
