The Grinch preparing to "steal" Christmas! |
For the holiday season this year the native assistants performed a dramatic reading of Dr. Suess' famous story "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". The story is about a monster called the Grinch who wants to ruin the holiday season for the creatures, Whos, living in the town below. The Grinch steals all of the food, presents and decorations from the Whos, but they are still able to happily celebrate Christmas. Then the Grinch learns that Christmas is not just about material things but is a holiday about being with the people you love.
Our auxiliares, Satia and Alisa, narrated the story, James (an auxiliar in ESO) played the part of the Grinch, Gina played the part of Cindy Lou, Sophia played the part of the Grinch's dog, Max, Melinda controlled the sound and images and Melissa (from ESO) helped us with lights. We also had very special help from some of our primary students in the audience who helped the actors onstage.
